Privacy Policy
Gravity is a personal, single-user notes tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information Gravity handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have.
1. Data I Collect
- Notes and preferences you enter: Stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. On iPhone and Mac, you can optionally enable iCloud sync to keep notes in sync across your Apple devices—your data stays in your personal iCloud account, not on our servers.
- Device information: Gravity does not collect device identifiers, location, or telemetry beyond what the operating system provides to run the software.
- Crash or diagnostics information: None is collected or transmitted by Gravity. If the operating system generates a crash log, it remains on your device unless you choose to share it.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- Your notes and settings are used solely to operate Gravity’s core features (capture, view, search, archive, and export).
- The website uses minimal, aggregate traffic analytics via Vercel Web Analytics. These metrics are used to understand page performance and traffic trends, not to profile your notes.
- Data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties.
3. Where Data Is Stored
- All data remains on your device in local storage. If you enable iCloud sync on iPhone or Mac, notes sync through your personal iCloud account—we never have access to this data.
- Exports you initiate are saved or shared via your chosen destination (for example, Files or email). Once exported, the data is governed by that destination’s policies.
4. Your Choices and Controls
- Export: You can export all non-deleted notes at any time from Settings.
- Archive and delete: Notes can be archived; permanent deletion is only performed when you explicitly confirm it. Deleted notes are not recoverable from within Gravity.
- Permissions: Gravity does not request sensitive permissions beyond standard storage access required by the operating system.
5. Children’s Privacy
Gravity is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for personal productivity use by adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Security
- Local information is stored in a SQLite database on your device. Protect access to your device and operating system account to safeguard your notes.
- Gravity only transmits notes over the network if you enable iCloud sync, in which case information flows directly to your personal iCloud account.
7. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
